What You'll Find on This Site

This site is largely based on the learnings from an accommodation-matching site, ymmfire.ca, built to help evacuees during the 2016 Fort McMurray fires. It will work to collect resources and connect people, both evacuees and volunteers.

EvacAB Logo

EvacAB is built to collect, curate, and publish resources when Albertans have to evacuate an area due to disasters. While all efforts are made to ensure that information is accurate, please be aware that misinformation is common during crisis and things may become out of date fast. Please confirm details before taking action!

Donations

Please do not bring unsolicited donations to reception centres until you see a specific call for them. Now is a good time to sort through your closet and kitchen cupboards for the upcoming weeks and months where those that have lost their homes will need to rebuild.

While active, this site will endeavor to let people know when goods, funds, and volunteer time are required. In the meantime, exercise care and caution.
